     Elizabeth was born on 13 February 1655/56 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of James Hamblen Jr. and Mary Dunham. She married John Scudder on 31 July 1689 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.^2,3 Elizabeth Hamlin was present at James Scudder's christening on 13 January 1695/96 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.⁴ Elizabeth died in January 1743/44 at Chatham, Barnstable, Massachusetts, at age 87.¹

      "Samuel Cobb born Barnstable, Ma resided in the lower part of the town, and built a house on the six acre lot that was his father's in the new common-field. His first house stood on the south-east corner of the land, on the west side of the lane leading to Indian lands. He soon after built a two story house, a little farther west on the same spot where the late farmers Joseph Cobb's house stood. It was two stories and constructed in the style common in those days. It was taken down about the year 1805."

     Thomas was born on 14 April 1745 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Captain James Delap and Mary O'kelly. Thomas Delap died on 8 December 1771 at age 26.

     Jean was born on 13 August 1752 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Captain James Delap and Mary O'kelly. Jean died in May 1826 at age 73.²

     Temperance was born in 1757 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Captain James Delap and Mary O'kelly. Temperance Delap died on 9 November 1832.

     James was born before 18 November 1759 (chr. at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts. He was christened on 18 November 1759 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Captain James Delap and Mary O'kelly. James Delap died on 19 April 1841.

     He married Mary Lombard 2 or 22 Aug 1709 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.² He resided, at Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.³ Benjamin (Bery) O'kelly was born after 1672 at Yarmouth, MA. Important events occurring in Europe brought on a war between France and England, in 1702, known as Queen Anne's war. The same year, Joseph Dudley was appointed governor of Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
The Indians were then tolerably peaceable; but, incited by the French, they soon became insolent. The governor, therefore, convened their chiefs at Casco, June 20, 1703, when they were loud in their protestations of friendship. Nevertheless, within a few weeks, they desolated the whole eastern country, from Casco to Wells.

     She married Benjamin (Bery) O'kelly 2 or 22 Aug 1709 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.¹ Mary was employed at as a Midwife at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.


Mary was a widow many years, and resided with her daughter, was a mid-wife, a vocation which at the time was very common and very useful employment for females. She was experienced, and stood high in her profession. When more than fore score years, when on her way to visit a patient, her horese stumbled, and she fell and broke her leg; but after being confined to her room some months she recovered, and resumed her useful labors for a short time. She died, according to the church records, May 1, 1772, aged 82 years.

     Eli was born on 16 January 1726/27 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Thomas Phinney and Reliance Goodspeed. Eli died on 3 February 1777 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts, at age 50.

     Ebenezer was born in December 1655 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.^1,2 He was the son of Roger Goodspeed and Alice Layton. He married Lydia Crowell on 15 February 1677/78 at Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.^3,4

     Mehitable was born 9 March 1752/1753 at Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Joshua Hall and Temperance Nye.

     Thankful was born on 27 July 1754 at Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Joshua Hall and Temperance Nye.

     Joanna was born on 8 October 1756 at Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Joshua Hall and Temperance Nye.
